2024
Match 1: University of Warwick versus Kraken (H)
Opposition’s Player: Harry S
Harry was consistently an option and made some lovely interceptions. His speed and fitness were excellent, and completely changed the game, especially in the second half. Captains’ Player: James W Finally some jumping! And it made so much of a difference, the captains decided on James purely down to how much he improved throughout the match, with an insane rebound percentage. Players’ Player: Issie F Issie might’ve smiled for a straight two hours in this match, keeping spirits high throughout, and did really really well out of position at WD. Good movement all over the court, and really well taken overheads/pocket passes. |

Opposition’s Player: Sam E
Sam had an insane shooting percentage and worked really well with both Mojo and Evie around the goal circle. Nice efficient passes to and from the midcourters as well! Captains’ Player: Celeste P Going in, the captains encouraged the defence to go for those interceptions and Celeste gave 100% all game with her play improving across the match. Some great tips, and really good man-on marking, especially against such a strong shooter. Players’ Player: Boaz G So many interceptions, and such a loud presence on the sidelines! Boaz definitely kept the team motivated throughout, and worked so well in both the defensive third and midcourt to read the ball, as well as being a consistent back-up option. |
Match 3: Thames Mavericks versus University of Warwick (A)
Opposition’s Player: Harry S
Well awarded for fitness, movement, and keeping spirits high throughout the game. Some lovely interceptions and good takes in the pocket, very well done! Captain’s Player: Tristan D The captains decided on Tristan as he greatly stepped up and helped to captain the game, maintaining a cool head throughout a difficult match and ensuring the team kept going to the very end. Players’ Player: all of the girls, Issie F, Celeste P, Ellie C The girls played all four quarters, which was especially impressive after Saffie's dramatic exit from the courts. All of the girls did such an excellent job; the quality of netball and fitness stayed high even with such a strong opposition. |

Opposition’s Player: Harry S
Taking on GA for the first time in a League game, he did really really well, scoring our 30th goal in the last second of the game! Fitness was, as always, top tier and movement as a shooter improved so much throughout the game. Players’ Player: Ellie C So many long bombs today it was so impressive to watch, especially after dealing with some rough play from the opposition, Ellie gave it her all and scored goal after goal, as well as gaining some impressive rebounds. Captain’s Player: The whole team! Given to acknowledge the effort and time the 7 players dedicated to this game. Everyone played incredibly well, keeping their heads up and continuing to put pressure on even after the difficult start they had. Winning the second quarter was a testament to how hard the team went out, wanting to bring the score back. |
England Men's and Mixed Netball Nationals
2024
At the end of August every year, we take part in EMMNA nationals, competing against the top netball teams from around the country (and a few international teams too). We're really looking forward to the competition this year and can't wait to update this page with some info and pictures about what we got up to!
Mixed Seconds
Our second team play frequent friendly matches against local teams.
Captain's end of 2023/24 round up
The second team started the term with a very strong win over Women’s devs, particularly impressive given they had only trained as a team twice beforehand! Denzel and Daisy did an excellent job as 2s Captain and Vice, leading the team confidently, keeping their heads cool, and making sure each player gave it their all. This was reflected in their last game of term against MK Dons, where despite going up against a team of National-level players they stayed optimistic and supportive. The camaraderie in that game completely embodied the spirit of MN, and the netball played was great quality. It will be great to see how members of the second team improve over the few two terms; the captains have high hopes many of them will play in the next EMMNA league!
