With all the other great stuff that MN takes part in during the year, sometimes it's easy to forget that we are in fact a sports club and every now and again we like to dabble in a bit of netball. Our training sessions are open to anybody and everybody; there are no trials, no previous experience needed and no commitment level necessary - you can come just once a term or every single week, it's entirely up to you!
Training is run by our excellent captains Dan and Darcy, and they generally consists of some casual warm ups, a few drills, and of course some netball matches. We have three training sessions per week, all outdoors, and the exact times and locations are above! Keep an eye on our Facebook page during the week as times and dates may be subject to change or cancellation last minute if the weather isn't playing nice. |
As a predominantly non-competitive sports club, here at Mixed Netball we have only a few matches with other universities, we also are invited to a National Championship (thrown in at the deep end)meaning we play competitively at that tournament. This year we will have an opportunity for our members to play more competitive netball, as well as keeping our main training sessions casual.
For members who would like some friendly competition, but don't want to play in the performance team, we have a Saturday league where other societies in Warwick compete against us. This is extremely casual and we just play for fun (but we are very proud to have won in 2021/2022)! There is absolutely no pressure to take part in any of the matches if you don't want to but if you do fancy getting involved, the league system runs entirely on a first-come first-serve basis. The match details will usually be posted on Facebook (you really should join the MN group) and if you're interested you simply need to get in touch with Dan or Darcy and they will let you know what to do! We are also always happy to have some support and cheering, so if you fancy a bit of spectating you're welcome to come along! Training and match updates will be posted on the Facebook page. |
